Tuesday 24th January – Stratton Village Hall DT2 9WG

The Journey To Reality

The intention in this meeting is to engage as a group in the essence of what it is to be ‘Enterprising Women’ in Dorset; to inspire, motivate and challenge each other to develop as women in business.

A recent survey in the USA highlighted a growing revolution amongst professional women who were searching for “frequent new challenges that stretch and grow their ability to achieve; the opportunity to be flexible with their schedule; the chance to collaborate with other high achievers; recognition from their company; and freedom to be themselves.” Taken from the book based on her research Marcia Reynolds¹ also says “when it comes to helping strong women make crucial choices… it is important to study their inner as well as their outer journey.”

The meeting will be divided into 3 sections; firstly Caroline Brewer, Leadership Developer and Coach, will share a simple map that has helped her to reflect on her own (ongoing) journey towards peace and fulfilment. Then the group will work in small teams to identify the key questions this raises for their own lives before finally regrouping to work with other like-minded people on potential options.

¹ Marcia Reynolds “Wander Woman – How High Achieving Women Find Contentment and Direction”. Berrett-Koehler, 2010

Caroline Brewer is an experienced Leadership Coach and Management Consultant, specialising in organisational development and performance improvement for teams and individuals. Despite it being an overused and under-valued phrase, she believes that people are an organisation’s most important asset. Engaging people throughout the business, together with customers and suppliers is the major element in achieving outstanding business performance.

For over 25 years she has helped business leaders and managers to address their people management and development issues particularly during times of growth and change. She has completed a wide range of assignments, recently including, coaching senior business leaders and managers, designing and delivering leadership training and development programmes, designing and implementing performance management systems, cultural assessments, and team development events.

Coupled to this broad business experience, she has a positive outlook and a depth of understanding that enables her to connect in ways that gets the best out of people. She works in partnership with her clients to make sense of what is happening, explore what needs to happen to develop future success and produce robust action plans, building resilience and energy for growth and change.

Taking the Cold out of Calling

Do you hate picking up the phone? Would you rather boil your own head than make a sales call to someone you don’t know?
The good news is that there is a professional; common-sense way of sales calling that relies upon you being a good-listener and, most importantly, upon you being yourself. In her own inimitable style, and without a PowerPoint presentation in sight, Margaret MacKenzie will give you an insight into how to take the fear out of calling, and actually to start to enjoy it.

Margaret MacKenzie is Sales and Marketing Director at The Swan Company, which offers Sales and Telesales Services, Consultancy and Training.
